KeePassX tool is free and very effective way to store your passwords and personal data securely, used for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The tool not only help store passwords safety but also save all your user names, URLs, attachments, and the comments in a convenient and safe. Additionally you can also optionally sort the items stored in separate groups for easy searching.

After installation, you open KeePassX by going to Applications >> Accessories.

To create an archive for your information, you first have to create a new database. There are 2 ways to do this, click on the New button (to the left on the toolbar) or click File> New Database (Ctrl + N). Then you will be asked to set common password for the database material (master key). You can set a password or use a password file (key file). With the password file, you can use your file GPG available, or you can ask KeePassX giving you.

Having created the database, you can add folders to group and divide the kind of information you want to store (for example the group is available on the Internet and Email). After you have created the group, you can add entries. To add an entry, you click the key icon or click the Add New Entry and enter all the necessary information for the items you want to store, such as username, password, URL, Comments ... KeePassX also allows you to attach files under Attachment .

In the password, you can add a password or maybe to KeePassX manually create a random password for you. To view the password just click on the icon shaped eyes. If user passwords are KeePassX created, you can rest assured about the safety and security of it.If you use your own password, the Quality of KeePassX will point out to you that your password is safe for you to decide whether you should change the password or not. Furthermore you can "request" KeePassX cancel the password expiry period, and remind you to change the password to ensure absolute safety.

Once you have finished the entry, click the OK , and all information will be stored. If this is the first time you save the database, KeePassX will ask you to name the file. To change options such as interfaces, languages ??or options ...
